Community Guidelines

Overview: The Guidelines Explained

We have created these Guidelines to support the health and progress of the Network’s use of our Platform. Each of the below statements and points should be considered the rules and regulations of the Platform’s usage in addendum to the other parts of the ContributorTerms.

The rules below are not intended to restrict the sharing of useful and progressive information; should you have any questions relating to the rules related to the use of our Platform, you should contact us for clarity.

Drastic misuse of our Platform under these guidelines will result in the closure of your Account.

Although there are a few areas we are going to focus on, it's important to keep the following statements in mind when interacting with the Platform:

  • Treat others with respect and be courteous
  • Accept that everyone’s opinions are their own
  • Do not share anything found away from the Platform without permission or giving credit to the public source
  • Consider every contribution you make as publicly shared to the Network
  • Work to develop and progress every contribution without consequence
  • Collaborate with the wider Network
  • Share what you want people to Use and learn from
  • Learn wherever possible

Do not intentionally:

  • Cause embarrassment
  • Be rude or discourteous
  • Be discriminatory of any kind
  • Post prejudiced comments or profanity
  • Bully or make inflammatory remarks
  • Share illegal content
  • Make or share contributions that may directly or indirectly bring about harm to another person
  • Make or share contributions that may promote activities that are in contempt of the Animal Welfare Act
  • Use the Platform to assist or partake in any illegal activities
  • Invoke a quarrel or distract a topic by posting irrelevant, digressive or inflammatory content
  • Share content that is Not Suitable for Work such as gore or sexually explicit content

Use direct messaging responsibly.

These tools are intended to keep members in touch with one another and help facilitate the dissemination of knowledge through the Platform to the Network. Some examples might include:

  • Identifying a community within the Network
  • Helping to coordinate public ideas around a new business idea
  • Posting contributions for collaboration with other members

Of course, these uses are not exhaustive and we hope that with your help as a part of our Network, we will discover new ways of working together.

A zero-tolerance stance is taken with respect to bullying, harassment and discrimination of any kind.

Consequences of your actions

We will take action when we see someone violating these guidelines. Sometimes that just means providing a member with a warning; and other times it means revoking certain privileges or accounts entirely. We request that all community members report behaviour that violates our guidelines to andrew@communitylab.app
